Fun Stuff

Author: me

Just like everyone else, I like to have fun. I am more of a practical joker then anything so I thought I would share some cool stuff you can use to piss off your friends:

Liquid Ass – This is a quick way to alienate your friends and family. One squirt of this and I can guarantee you a life of solitude. This stuff really smells like ass!

TV Be Gone – Save this one for Sunday morning football at the local sports bar. This is a quick way to get your ass kicked without having to ask.

Dr. Bukk – If you really want to make people sick then I suggest a set of these fake teeth. I personally own a set of the Bukks. Try a pair on and have fun ordering food at your local McDonalds.

Bakersfield Bondsman Busted – Douche Bag Alert!

Author: me

It appears that Cruz Bail Bonds has figured out or to obtain property and cash the old fashioned way – by stealing it from their customers. Brian Walker is the first of six people named in a California Department of Insurance investigation into Joaquin Cruz and his former bail bond company. Cruz is set to face extortion and false imprisonment charges.

The Department of Insurance regulates bondsmen and has been investigating Cruz since at least 2006. A call from one customer turned up complaints from five others, who said Cruz demanded more money from them after freeing them on bail. Several of Cruz’s family members and co-workers also were arrested in the case, and face multiple felony charges.

Bounty Hunter Plans Return To Search For Caylee

Author: me

For those of you who are not following this, Leonard Padilla is a bounty hunter who works out of the Sacramento area. I am not sure why he is involving himself in this case except for the publicity. He’s not a cop and I don’t beleive he is a licensed private investigator in Florida. I say stay out of this and let the Police do thier job. You can read the full artice here.

I’m telling the Judge

Author: me

I spent a few days last week working in Salinas and, as you already from my previous posts, I dislike working there. So rather then dive into more rants about the ire of Salinas I will jump right into a pretty funny story that happened a few months back. I was reminded of this story in Salinas when my partner and I arrested this guy and after a few minutes with him we both looked at each other and said “Melinda Jones” (not her real name).

Melinda was a lady that I arrested twice in 3 months and prior to that she was arrested by another investigator out of our office. My last arrest would be the last time we bailed her out. You will understand why we wanted nothing to do with her after this.

When I was assigned the first case I did little to check on any previous cases. It seemed simple enough. She lived in a wealthy peninsula city and had been at the same address for 20 or so years. She was in her early 50’s and thus had no reason to worry about my safety. After all how much damage could a 50 something female actually cause? Ha!

Cellar Dweller

Author: me

This happened a few months and I am not sure why I forgot to write about it. It involves a defendant that we had previously arrested and and since failed to appear again. We knew were he was living and the first time we visited the house his wife was more the cooperative. She allowed us to search the house and was very open about the defendant’s drug problems. She told us that they were separated and he was living between houses in Modesto and San Jose. She promised that she would call if he showed up at her house but he was eventually picked up my the police and returned to court. Case closed…

I get the new case and we immediately drive to the wife’s house. She lives on the border of San Jose and Santa Clara with her mom and her 2 young children in a fairly nice neighborhood. It’s a single story house with a 2 car garage and a fairly large backyard. Since she was so cooperative in the first cast we decide to just knock the door and find out if she knows where he is.

On the road again

Author: me

One of the coolest perks of this job is the ability to travel, especially on short notice. My partner was assigned a case where the defendant was living in a town call Silver Springs, Nevada. Silver Springs is a small town (8,000 residents) south east of Reno. You can learn more about Silver Springs here and here.

We left the bay area at 9:30am and figured we would arrive around 2:30pm. With about 100 miles to go I was getting tired of my my partner’s slow pace and told him to let me drive. I don’t want to be up here all day. I want to get back home. I am a much more aggressive driver and am not afraid to drive fast, really fast. As a matter-of-fact I get stopped for speeding a lot and, for some strange reason, rarely get cited. I think it’s because I never argue police and always admit when I am wrong.

I learned a long time ago that if your get stopped for speeding you deserve a ticket and arguing with the police is a waste of time. Just be sincere, admit you were wrong. Tell the truth. If you don’t know how fast you were going then just admit it. Giving a cop attitude will get you nowhere fast. You can always take your chances in court.

Use a gun…

Author: me

A few days ago I was assigned a case on a guy who was currently on parole and had filed to appear on a case involving possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine. This guy had been in and out of prison most of his adult life. His stolen property included credit cards, drivers licenses and other items usually associated with identity theft. He was using stolen credit cards to support his drug habit.

Like most other Meth users this guy lied about where he lived, his job (or lack thereof) and just about anything else that we could use to locate him. Through the course of my investigation I locate his father who provides me with some crucial information about the defendant’s possible location.

I had also placed several calls to the cosigner, a female that was simply listed as a “friend” on the application, but she has not returned any of my calls. This is usually an indication that she may be hiding the defendant or knows his location and doesn’t want to tell me. After all she’s on the hook for the bail and most people who don’t want to pay the bond off call right away.

Ugh!

Author: me

it’s been too long since I’ve posted and I have a lot of catching up to do. It is true about crime increasing when the economy sours. We’ve seen an increase in theft, drug and violence related crimes. So much so that the jails are doing more OR (releasing someone on their own recognizance) to alleviate the crowding. The majority of my cases continue to involve drug use, specifically methamphetamine.

Meth is the worst drug to hit the streets in the US since the cocaine epidemic of the 80’s. However, I believe that Meth is having a far worse social impact on America. It destroys lives and the people around them. It’s an ugly drug and anyone connected to a Meth addict will tell you that the addict has little regard for themselves and even less for their loved ones. They are truly owned by the drug only care about thier next score.
